Todays demo at Oceanside pier started out a little drizzly and flat but as the tide rolled in so did the surfers . I over heard a few say “ Im gonna try the new stuff wheather there’s waves or not. Today we were Joined by Hawaiian pro surfer Kalani Robb, who like a grom was literally the first guy in the water. Also joining the demo crew was Pierre Zamronnnie’ a die hard ci customer and Kelly fan-atic who flew from France to try one of the three wizard sleeve models that Kelly had personally shaped . In a French accent Pierre said” It was great Kelly loaned his personal boards to the ci demo van for us to try , I really wanted to make a conscious decision on if I thought his new designs held any validity” After riding them Pierre said” I do think these boards will soon be as common as the french-fry, I had so much fun on them , he really has something here!” Check out the photos of Pierre, Kalani and the rest of the Demo fleet testers.

Here’s Heath Nutty Walker, Reef team manager and CI rider!!! Ok, here’s the question!

Should a team manager still do contests , and if he beats one of his riders should they get dropped off the team? It could be a good way of slimming down the team budget! Here are some pics of nutty on his 5-11 rookie swallow tail. Blowing up!

New Quiver

Yesterday I went up to Channel Islands factory in Carpenteria and grabbed 5 new boards for my trip to Bali. Yes, so pumped!!! I decided to bring back the black and white pin lines for this years White Dove Model. The last time I rode boards with this design was when I was about 17 years old.. Feels like yesterday. I am so grateful to be a part of the Channel Islands team, I have been a big fan of Al and his boards.

Looks like the waves are going to be really fun in Bali, as usual. For this trip I went will all pin tails which I do not normally ride. The waves in Bali seem to be a lot cleaner than the waves here, especially now, and I think pin tails will work best in those conditions. Its going to be extreme going from 50 degree water in Norcal to trunks, I ain’t complaining just got the butt white vibe going on…Bronze time..

May 23.

Ponto Demo, Froth Factor 10. By 11 am all the 40 demo boards were out in the water. The waves were pretty small but there was a few fun ones it looked like. Taylor Knox was out there dropping in on people and getting ready for Brazil. Benji was out there on a Pod paddling with one arm. ( He injured his Shoulder a week ago in OZ ) . based on the feedback from the biscuit /Fiscuit/ Robber we should just have the Demo Van filled with those things. Actually there was great feedback on almost all the new boards. People were stoked to be able to figure out what size board to get in a specific model. good day for sure.

Oceanside Pier next Saturday(May 30th)…

See you there

The Union Express
It was just like old times, filming and surfing for a week in San Francisco with Keith and Benny B. The 3 of us spent quite a few years grovelling in crappy surf on the WQS and then we spent a year where we were all on the WCT. I was so excited that both of them told me that they were in town and free to film! The Union Express, starts off in San Francisco and ends in San Diego. I will be riding the train, hooking up with good friends in each town, catching some waves, playing music and learning a little bit more about my friends and what they do on their down time. I got a feeling that I am going to get the inside scoop at all the best places to eat and hang out at in each town. I may even be taken to a couple new spots that I have not surfed in the towns as well, but we will keep that on the down low…
